Ultimate sets Petr Yan x Sean O'Malley for UFC 280 in October

After forwarding the bantamweight belt dispute (up to 61,2kg) to UFC 280, Ultimate made another important duel official for the direction of the division at the same event. Eyeing a new reign, the former category champion Petr yan will face rising prospect Sean O'Malley, who will have his first challenge in the group's elite. The clash will take place on October 22nd and will be held at the Etihad Arena, in Abu Dhabi (UAE).

Former bantamweight champion, Petr yan dreams of a new reign in the under-61,2kg division. In his last three fights, the Russian suffered two defeats to aljamain sterling, being surrounded by controversies, and won Cory Sandhagen, by points, in the interval between the two duels. First placed in the category's ranking, the former owner of the belt has an MMA record of 16 triumphs and just three setbacks.

Considered one of the best fighters of the company's new generation, Sean O'Malley is known for his unorthodox style of fighting and for being an athlete who is adept at 'ostentatious'. His last duel, against the Brazilian Peter Munhoz, ended as 'No-Contest', after the North American applied an illegal finger to the Brazilian athlete's eye, who was unable to continue in the confrontation. Thirteenth in the category classification, 'Sugar' has a record of 15 positive results and only one negative result as a professional.

At least for now, the UFC 280 It will become one of the most anticipated cards of the second half of the year. In the main fight, the Brazilian Charles of the Bronx will face the Russian Islam makhachev for the vacant lightweight belt.
