Overcome by Raphael Fiziev No. UFC Las Vegas 58, Rafael dos Anjos recognized its rival's superiority last Saturday. Defeated by knockout in the last round of the match, the Brazilian avoided making excuses and agreed and did not argue about referee Mark Smith's stoppage. In an interview with 'ESPN', the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.) analyzed the negative result.

“I have to review the fight, but I don't think so (about the referee allegedly stopping the fight prematurely). He (Fiziev) won cleanly. Rafael was a tough opponent. I trained a lot for this fight and I had a bad time. That’s the game,” said RDA.

After temporarily stepping away from his dream lightweight title fight, Dos Anjos is not thinking about the next challenge. After making his second appearance in the 2022 season, the athlete confirms that he intends to rest.

“I fought four months ago and I fought Fiziev tonight. I have to go home and enjoy my family for a bit. I was out for 16 months due to two knee injuries and a hernia. I’m going to go back home, enjoy my family and see what the future holds for us”, he concluded.
