With the end of the first half of the 2022 season, the time has come to bring MMA fans some highlights that marked the year with epic performances. In this special article, the team at SUPER FIGHTS brings you the five most emblematic finishes of the last six months.

There are cases in which the 'gentle art' guaranteed the title to a champion. In another, the athlete even dislocated her rival's arm, causing a strong image to see.

Representative of Dagestan, Said Nurmagomedov is the first to appear on the list. Promise of the bantamweights (up to 61,2kg.) in the UFC, the fighter shone in front of cody stmann, in January of 2022.

In what marked his fifth appearance with the Ultimate gloves, the athlete needed less than a minute to settle the bill against the North American. With adjusted jiu-jitsu, the athlete submitted with a guillotine choke in 47 seconds, forcing his rival to tap out.

Former UFC representative and PFL bet on the 2022 season, Stevie Ray had a renowned opponent in his second appearance in the organization. Inserted in the lightweight tournament (up to 70,3kg.), the athlete from Scotland showed what he came for precisely in front of the renowned Anthony Pettis.

In a match valid for the quarterfinals of the division championship, Ray surprised by producing an unusual finish against the former Ultimate champion. With an inverted triangle, in the second round, the athlete forced 'Showtime' to withdraw and, as a result, qualified for the semi-final of the tournament.

3) Jim Miller submits, retires Donald Cerrone and breaks record

The completion of Jim Miller No. UFC 276 It may not be the rarest to see, but the work as a whole forces the team to include it on the 'Best of the Semester' list. Although the confrontation against Donald Cerrone didn't expose athletes at their peak, there was something very important at stake: the record for the highest number of victories in the organization.

The confrontation got off to a tense start, with the athletes testing each other with attacks in the center of the Octagon. In the second round, however, Miller took advantage of an oversight by 'Cowboy' and used one of his best-known weapons: jiu-jitsu. After putting a guillotine choke on Donald, the veteran gave up.

With the victory, Jim reached the impressive mark of 24 victories with the Ultimate gloves and took over the top of the table. After the defeat, the legendary Cerrone announced his retirement from MMA.

4) Julija Stoliarenko dislocates rival’s arm

Pressured after three fights without victory in Ultimate, Julija Stoliarenko lived his moment of glory in UFC 276. Opponent of Jessica Rose Clark In the fight that opened the event, the fighter needed little time to achieve her first positive result in the company, and in an impressive way.

After losing three in a row, the athlete was able to show what she came for in the organization and made use of her jiu-jitsu. With Clark on the ground, the Lithuanian athlete got into an armbar and even dislocated her opponent's limb.

The fighter's feat earned the combatant one of the performance bonuses. Thus, the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg) took home US$50.

5) From the Bronx puts on a show after a nightmare

Favorite of Brazilian fans and big star in the current lightweight squad (up to 70,3kg) of Ultimate, Charles of the Bronx went from hell to heaven UFC 274. Victim of a historic controversy with the scales on the eve of the show, the São Paulo native ended up having his belt taken away after failing to make the weight cut.

In addition to the psychological nightmare, the Tupiniquim had to face the commitment of sharing the octagon with the dangerous Justin gaethje. Before losing his title, Charles sought to defend his throne for a second time.

In the fight, Do Bronx put on a show again. After moments of fright against the North American, jiu-jitsu was the decisive factor in the fight. With his well-known rear naked choke, the Brazilian forced his rival to withdraw and qualified for the vacant division title.
