Aware that to reach the top of the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg) he will need to face big names, Raphael Fiziev celebrated the opportunity to face the former champion Rafael dos Anjos. On the 'media day' of UFC Las Vegas 58, which takes place next Saturday (09), the fighter from Kyrgyzstan celebrated the fact that the organization had rescheduled the duel against the Brazilian and was excited to share the octagon with the former owner of the belt.

“When this fight was scheduled for the second time, and he (Rafael dos Anjos) agreed to fight, I thought, 'Wow, he agreed.' I'm happy about that because later, he fought (Renato) Moicano. He could have said, 'I don't want to fight him again. Why do I need this?' But he said yes, and I was like, 'Wow, that's good.' He is a man,” said Fiziev.
Fiziev celebrated the opportunity to measure his strength against a rival of great caliber and praised Dos Anjos' skills.
“I like challenges and this guy is a great challenge. So I'm happier because he's a former champion and I want to test my skills on a guy who already had the belt on his body. He has good skills and that's why I'm more than happy because this is a big test for me. I’m excited to test my skills,” he finished at lightweight.
Tenth placed in the lightweight rankings, Fiziev was going to face Dos Anjos last March, however, the fighter from Kyrgyzstan tested positive for Covid-19 and had to be removed from the duel. At 29 years old, Rafael has a record of 11 triumphs and only one setback as an MMA professional.
