Edition number 69 of the SUPER FIGHTS Podcast. As it could not be otherwise, the chapter reflects the great UFC 276, what a movement in MMA last weekend. The main highlight is Alex Poatán, which overshadowed the two title fights with the emblematic massacre against Sean Strickland.
New Ultimate star, Poatan stepped into the Octagon for his most important engagement in his career in mixed martial arts to date. Facing the experienced Strickland, the kickboxing legend asserted his reputation as a knockout artist and massacred the American 'bad boy' in the first round. The victory could qualify the Tupiniquim to a title dispute with Israel adesanya, victim of the Paulista twice in kickboxing.
The main star of the event, Adesanya also performed, but without shine. Before Jared Cannonier, the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) once again had a conservative presentation and overcame his opponent in the judges' decision, defending the throne for the fifth time.
Whoever did it well was Alexander Volkanovsky. Owner of the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg), the Australian passed for the third time Max Holloway and secured the top of the category. Unlike the first two clashes, marked by balance, 'The Great' nullified the former champion for around 25 minutes.
