The North American insinuated that his rival faked the injury because he was at a disadvantage in the fight and asked for changes to the shape of the gloves.

Even after landing an illegal blow on Pedro Munhoz at UFC 276, bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) Sean O'Malley believes that the Brazilian was capable of continuing in the fight. At the press conference after the show this Saturday (02), the North American accused the Brazilian athlete of giving up the fight and suggested to the organization a possible change in the shape of the gloves.

“I truly believe it was the best scenario for Pedro. I was about to destroy him, I was much faster than him. He couldn't hit me, he couldn't hurt me. One hundred percent is what's going on in my mind. I'll have to watch (the fight) again. I wasn't hit once. He got in there and said, 'I'm going to kick his legs, try to knock him down.' He tried to kick my legs, which hurt him more. He couldn't put me against the fence, he couldn't knock me down. I was dominating that fight,” O’Malley said.

The North American tried to justify himself about the illegal blow applied to the Brazilian and suggested to Ultimate a change in the shape of the gloves.

“We have to figure something out with these gloves, because when you're wearing these gloves, they almost make your hand want to open up. You have to, like, really make a fist. So if we just had gloves that force your hand to make a fist, I think that would help a lot,” Sean said.

Even with the “no contest” (fight without result) in front of Peter Munhoz, O'Malley continues to rise in the organization and has scored 3 wins in his last four fights. The North American has a record of 15 triumphs and only one setback in the sport.
