André Sergipano uses grappling, dominates Uriah Hall and wins on points at UFC 276

Brazilian fights intelligently, takes few risks and reaches his ninth career victory

Brazilian representative on the preliminary card of the UFC 276, event held this Saturday (2), André Sergipano did it beautifully. With broad dominance in grappling over Uriah Hall, the Minas Gerais native won the judges' unanimous decision and should reach the top 10 in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg).

With the new triumph, Sergipano comes on a streak of nine consecutive victories, four of which in Ultimate. Professional since 2009, the Brazilian has 22 positive results and four negative results in his career.

Hall, on the other hand, remains without being finished, but feels the 'bitter taste' of the second defeat in a series. Now, the 'Ambulance Man' has 17 triumphs and ten setbacks in his career in mixed martial arts.

The fight

Sergipano started the fight with striking and landed good blows at close range. Cornered in the octagon, Hall was unable to develop his game and was stuck at a distance from the Brazilian, who sensed the good moment and bet on a takedown. On top, André got to work and almost reached the submission, but saw the North American make the save.

The grappling game, Minas Gerais' flagship game, returned to action in the second stage. With ease, Sergipano made the progression on the ground and reached mount. Hall, on the other hand, only defended himself and appeared tired. In the final stretch, André made the transition to his back, in addition to trying an armbar submission, but saw the North American explode.

Without taking any risks, André once again dominated on the ground. On top, he landed good punches and returned to Hall's back, but chose not to take any risks, took the fight to a decision and came out with his arms raised in the duel against the 'Ambulance Man'.
