It took a while, but finally Justin gaethje reflected on the defeat over Charles of the Bronx No. UFC 274, which took place on May 7th of this year. Participating in the organization's 'Hall of Fame' induction ceremony, the North American admits that the emotion of fighting at home, with the support of the fans in Arizona (USA), could have harmed him in the fight for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg.). He ended up submitting in the first round via rear naked choke.

“We’re in a crazy game and that’s why I love it. It's a game of details and, at the end of the day, being at home in front of your own fans, sometimes you lose control of your emotions. I'm not sure what happened. I had the time of my life, but it's a crazy game. Almost emotional and impossible,” Gaethje said.

When asked about his next step in the category, Justin admits to taking a break to deal with a 'long-standing problem' with his nose. The American stated that he will undergo surgery and is in no rush to return to the octagon, despite revealing his desire for a short path.

“I've been waiting a long time to break this nose. No one has done it, so I'm going to do it myself and make one last run for the title. There are some fights that will happen. I'll let that happen. I want a clear two- or three-fight path back to title contention, and I want to win it like I should. I have a great manager, I'm not too worried about it. I will be ready to fight,” he concluded.
