Israel Adesanya reveals 'simple' strategy for the duel against Jared Cannonier

The middleweight champion promised to 'impress' in his victory over his challenger and said he is a much better fighter than the North American.

Ready for his fifth defense of the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg), Israel adesanya said he was confident in following his 'simple' strategy in UFC 276. The Nigerian showed respect for Jared Cannonier, but stated that the challenger is not at his skill level and promised to punish him in the octagon. The statement was made on the 'media day' of the show that takes place next Saturday (02).

“Honestly, this makes me more excited. I like to rise to the challenge. Everyone's asking, 'What's the game plan? How are you going to defeat Cannonier?'. I'm going to fuck him up. That's the main thing. I'm going to screw this guy over and I'm saying it because I want it. I want people to say, 'We'll see,' because I know what I'm doing. It's game time. This is the biggest fight card of the year. We have to fight well. And that. We have to impress and you know me, when it’s time to impress, I step up,” said a confident Adesanya.

Absolute middleweight champion since October 2019, Adesanya will try against Jared Cannonier remain the absolute king of the under-83,9kg division. The two athletes will take part in the main fight of the UFC 276, which will be held at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA).
