After surprise Amanda Nunes for her 'calmer' posture during the TUF 30 recordings, Julianna Penã explained the reasons for her change in personality as the rematch approaches. The bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) said she saw no need to continue provoking the Brazilian as she is the current owner of the belt, but called the Tupiniquim athlete a 'dead dog'. The statement was made in an interview with the website 'MMA Mania'.

“All these things she said, like I didn't say s*** and I was trying to make people like me or something, I was like, no, I've been on the show before, so I kind of know how production takes place. But that being said, I've already beaten you. You hadn't been finished, you hadn't been stopped, you had this title of 'GOAT' (best of all time) and you were embarrassed. You were so frustrated that you fired your entire team. You left the gym you've been at for ten years. You had to see a sports psychologist. Like, why kick a dead dog? This is not my style, it is not my personality, and I already know how much it hurts her. I'm not trying to pour more salt into the wounds. I already did my trash talk in the ring. There is nothing more to be said for me”, said the 'Venezuelan Shrew'.
The long-awaited settlement of accounts between the two rivals already has a date to take place. The rematch valid for the bantamweight belt, currently held by Julianna, will take place at UFC 277 scheduled for July 30th. The show will be held at the American Airlines Arena, in Dallas, Texas (USA).
