Whoever imagined that Junior dos Santos' new defeat to Cain Velazquez, at UFC 166, could knock the Brazilian out of the organization's heavyweight rankings. In the most recent update of the list, based on the votes of accredited journalists, the Brazilian is only behind the champion of the category, and his executioner last Saturday (19).

Little has changed in the ranking since its last version. Roy Nelson, defeated by Daniel Cormier in the co-main fight of UFC 166, he dropped one position and is now tenth among the heavyweights. Even with the victory, Cormier remains in second, behind Cigano and Velasquez. Furthermore, Jessica Eye, who debuted with a victory over Sarah Kauffman at the same event, made her first appearance in the women's bantamweight category rankings – occupying seventh place.

PUBLICITY:

Last Saturday (19), Junior dos Santos was defeated by Cain Velazquez in the main fight of UFC 166. Even with the victory, the American of Mexican descent remained in fifth place in the organization's weight-for-pound rankings, behind Jon Jones, Georges St Pierre, José Aldo e Anderson Silva – respectively.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!

I believe that Cigano can continue training for another 10 years without beating Cain again if he continues without a fight plan, it was clear in these last two clashes that Cain is better and has Corner! In the two fights he lost, Cigano seemed to have no strategy, nothing worked, in the fight he won he found a blow that gave him the victory.
Cigano has a lot of heart and good boxing, but he needs to improve a lot in grappling on the feet and on the ground if he wants to face Cain.

Cigano lost both fights for the same reason, he demonstrated that he had no strategy at all, he lacked stamina, boxing and kicking, it's time to change his coaches if he wants to stay in the UFC.
