Melendez and Sanchez fight an epic battle; Napão knocks out quickly

Lightweights put on an electrifying fight, while Napão needed just 93 seconds to knock out his rival

Gabriel Napao promised and fulfilled. The Brazilian stated before UFC 166 that he would seek a knockout against Shawn Jordan and needed just 93 seconds to reach his goal.

As soon as the fight started, Napão took over the center of the octagon and marked the North American's movement. Jordan tried to take the initiative in the fight with boxing blows, but they were always blocked and responded to by the Brazilian.

In one of the counterattacks came the attack that defined the fight. Shawn threw a sequence of two punches that stopped in Napão's guard. Then, Gabriel applied a right cross that hit his rival's chin.

Quickly, the Brazilian landed two more blows on the ground, which forced the referee to end the fight.

In the end, Gilbert Melendez won the unanimous decision of the judges (29×28, 30×27, 29×28).
