Velasquez admits attacking the cut suffered by Cigano: 'Why not?'

Champion, however, denied that he will focus solely on this during the fight

Last Wednesday (16), Junior dos Santos surprised by revealing that he suffered a deep cut on his face about three weeks ago, during preparation for the duel against Cain Velazquez. The information was received positively by Velasquez, who considered taking advantage of his rival's recent injury during the fight.

“I will be focused on my plan for the fight. You know, execute my game plan. I won't be focusing on the cut itself, I think that would be a distraction from what I'm going to do. But if you happen to be able to attack it (the cut), yes. Why not?” said the heavyweight champion, in an interview with journalist Ariel Helwani from the “MMA Fighting” website.

Junior dos Santos and Cain Velazquez face each other for the third time, again for the heavyweight title, in the main fight of UFC 166. The event takes place this Saturday (19), at Toyota Center, in Houston (USA). In the co-main fight of the night, the former Strikeforce GP champion Daniel Cormier face the “chubby” Roy Nelson.
