“They could have taken my leg off and it would still be the same weight. The city (Arizona) Athletic Commission robbed me. They robbed me and that is the reality. They wanted to take my belt to mess with my head, but the opposite happened,” said Do Bronx in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Charles also believes that, because Gaethje was fighting in his hometown, there was a preference for the North American to arrive stronger in the fight. The Brazilian, however, says he didn't let himself get discouraged and focused on victory.
“This served to show the category and the world that I am Charles Oliveira, lightweight champion. No matter how much they try to mess with my head, I'm the champion. The city commission robbed me, they wanted the champion to be from their city, but it wasn't even close. I think there was some pressure on the scale. Anyone could climb, I wouldn’t gain weight,” he concluded.
