During a recent appearance on the “Blockparty podcast”, Chimaev, who is coming off a victory over Gilbert Durinho in April, he stated that he is willing to face Nate diaz, but admitted that the possible duel is not close to being closed.

PUBLICITY:

“No, it was never close to being closed. When I asked the skinny kid to fight I was at a good weight, in good shape. Now I've been lifting weights, I've gained three kilos and he wants to fight. Did he think August would be too early to cut weight? I do not care. I'll cut my weight and face him if he's ready. I'm going to crush that boy. He won’t be the same Diaz,” said the Swede.

Chimaev's comment comes as a response to the provocation made by Nate diaz at the end of May. At the time, the American revealed that he has been trying to face the Swede for over a month.

PUBLICITY:

“I've been trying to fight for a year and I've also been trying to get a fight with Khamzat for the last month and a half, but he was injured, he had visa problems, he was overweight and now this b***h is getting married instead of to fight. What the f*** is this? I'm trying to get a fight with a real fighter as soon as possible, in July”, teased Diaz, who is looking forward to the last fight of his UFC contract.
