EliteXC announced last night, through its president, Gary Shaw, that it purchased the Hawaiian event ICON Sport, formerly known as Superbrawl. The organization that already has the rights to Cage Rage, WEC and Fury FC is consolidating itself every day as one of the great forces in the world of MMA.
“This is an exciting day for all of our organizations, but the biggest winners will be fans in Hawaii,” the president said.
Many of the biggest names in world MMA have fights at ICON's (formerly Superbrawl), including Frank Shamrock, Vitor belfort, Matt hugs, Rich Franklin, Tim Sylvia, Robbie Lawler, Mayhem Miller, Frank Trigg and Takanori Gomi.
