The partnership between the heavyweight junior gypsy and Corinthians is extended until 2015. This Friday (11), through an official note, the São Paulo club announced the renewal of the agreement for another two years.
“The renewal of the contract with the junior gypsy for two years shows that the MMA project at Corinthians is long-term. The club believes in the strength that the sport currently has, as well as in the enormous growth potential that we see ahead. O junior gypsy He is one of the main names in MMA on the planet and it is an honor to continue having the athlete on our team and exposing the Corinthians brand”, said João Guilherme de Oliveira, MMA manager at the São Paulo club on the association's official website.
The contract between junior gypsy and Corinthians started in July 2012, after the Brazilian defeated Frank mir and defend the heavyweight belt. Since then, the athlete from Santa Catarina has fought twice, being defeated by Cain Velazquez and losing the category belt. But then the Brazilian recovered and knocked out Mark Hunt at UFC 160.
The next fight junior gypsy in the octagon will be the trilogy before Cain Velazquez at UFC 166, an event that takes place on October 19, in Houston, in the United States.
