Toquinho's dismissal, as punishment for holding back the finish too much about Mike Pierce at UFC Fight Night 29, took Brazilian fans by surprise. The athlete, who is already a repeat offender in this type of situation, was summarily dismissed by the organization, less than 24 hours after his victory in Barueri (SP), in his debut as a welterweight. However, for Alex Davis, Toquinho's manager, the penalty imposed by Ultimate was exaggerated.

“It may be difficult for people who don't know Rousimar personally to understand, but I'm telling you, he does it on instinct. He only realizes this later. But I think the UFC has already deprived him of an obvious $50 'Submission of the Night' bonus. That should be enough, I think,” said Davis, in an interview with the “MMA Junkie” website.

Last Wednesday (09), Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares beat Mike Piere with a quick submission, just a few seconds into the first round. The Brazilian, however, insisted on the heel hook, even after his opponent gave up and the referee intervened. Minutes later, UFC president Dana White already expressed his discontent through his profile on Twitter. This Thursday (10), the director announced the removal of Toquinho from the organization's squad.

I agree. Firing was a bit much. After all, other athletes took a long time to release and there was no capital punishment. Just remember Frank Mir WHEN HE BROKEN THE MINOTAUR'S ARM. Dismissal is not enough! He should be prosecuted for intentional bodily injury. The cap is a coward! He injures sparring partners and when someone loses to him and hits him (this is increasingly rare!) he doesn't let go! Plus the guy is a fraud!
