Even with the victory over Glover Teixeira and winning the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg.) in the UFC 275, Jiri Prochazka he is not satisfied with his performance. After submitting the Brazilian in the main fight, the organization's new champion regretted his performance against the Minas Gerais native. At the press conference after the event, the Czech explained his position.
“I had a hard time setting up a situation to prepare him (Glover) for the knockout. I couldn't see the right moment to win in his striking. That was my difficulty in the fight”, said the fighter.
In the confrontation, Prochazka was able to measure strength with Teixeira for almost 25 minutes. With ups and downs in the clash, the Czech revealed that he had no surprises with the strategies imposed by the Brazilian.
“He didn’t surprise me with anything. We knew what he had to do. He was successful. I had to work to stop it,” he concluded.
Against Glover, Prochazka had one of the toughest clashes in his MMA career. The athlete was at a disadvantage in the confrontation, but ended up taking advantage of an oversight by the Minas Gerais native and submitting the former champion in the final seconds of the last round.
