The wave of injuries hit the Brasil Fight 7 card hard, an event that takes place next Friday (11), in Divinópolis, in the interior of Minas. Thiago Michel from Minas Gerais felt muscle pain in his thigh and will not be able to take part in the main fight of the show. As a result, Jorjão Rodrigues, from the Nova União team, was called to face the North American Ken Jackson in the event's international challenge.
In the women's duel, Ju Thai takes on Lilian Trolezi, a student of Marcelo Ribas, who replaces Nicleide dos Anjos, injured, at 61kg. For the BH x Brasília Challenge, Gabriel Wolff had to be replaced by Hebert Souza, from the Constrictor Team, in the flyweight category (up to 57kg).
“Changes to the card so close to the event are never good, but injuries happen in sport. If on the one hand we are sad about Thiago leaving, we are sure that Jorjão Rodrigues will put up a great fight against Ken Jackson. He was ready to fight for Shooto last week, and in Brasil Fight he will compete in a higher category, welterweight, not suffering too much from the weight cut”, observes the event promoter, Rodrigo Moreira.
Jorjão Rodrigues is a Kimura/Nova União athlete, training partner of the UFC champions José Aldo e Renan Barao, from the TUF champion Leo Santos. He will have you in his corner Jussier formiga, who has already had three fights at the biggest MMA event on the planet.
