When contacted, coaches and physical trainers refused to comment on the practice, even if they did not directly relate it to the episode of Feijão's death. The main allegation was that it is a delicate time to address the issue, regardless of the approach. The reporter tried, together with several physical trainers on site, to follow the last day of the athletes' weight cutting, but they rejected the possibility.

On September 26th, Leandro Feijão passed away moments before the Shotoo 43 weigh-in. The medical report indicated a stroke as the cause of death, but the athlete's family believes there is a connection between the death and the weight cut that Leandro went through. during its preparation. Out of respect for what happened with Feijão, the Shooto Brasil organization canceled the event, which would take place in Rio de Janeiro.
