The Brazilian Charles of the Bronx returns to the octagon at UFC 166, on October 16, to face Jeremy Larsen, but the athlete from São Paulo is already on his way to the United States. Alongside his coach Ericson Cardozo, he leaves for Houston, the same city as the event, where the last phase of training will take place, at Jorge Patino's “Macaco” gym.

Do Bronx believes that the company of the Macaco Gold Team leader will be fundamental for the final stretch of his preparation, since in addition to being a coach, Macaco is a great advisor.

“I want to get rid of this 'bad luck' and that's why I did a lot of preparation. I'm going to take advantage of the chance to be with Macaco for a few days before the fight and absorb everything I can from his teachings. He knows what's best for me. I'm a guy who has worked hard and trained hard to do what needs to be done at the right time and come out with a positive result. I need to win, and I know this is the time”, emphasizes the fighter.

Before the battle he fought with Frankie Edgar at UFC 162, Charles of the Bronx he had to wait eight long months to step back into the Octagon. The reason was a knee injury, which has now fully recovered. This time, Ultimate gave him a three-month break between fights, a fact celebrated by the athlete.

PUBLICITY:

“I stayed away for a long time before fighting Edgar, but 2013 is being very different. In 100 days I will return to the Octagon. I prefer it this way, because I don't lose my rhythm and I feel stronger for the fight. This way I stay in the fighting rhythm and don’t lose focus”, he concluded.
