With a fight against Paulo borrachinha No. UFC 278, Luke Rockhold had an 'indigestible' training partner in his preparation for his return to MMA. On social media, the former UFC champion released images of a grappling session with the legendary, and retired, Khabib Nurmagomedov. The veteran, who got the worst of it, is the Russian's gym mate at American kickboxing Academy (AKA).

“It’s good to be back,” wrote Rockhold, on his Twitter account. Instagram.
In the images (see below), it is possible to see Khabib nullifying the actions of the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg). Retired since the end of 2020, the Russian showed that he still maintains the old technique.
Willing to resume his career, Luke has a fight against Paulo borrachinha for August 20th. The clash will mark the American's return to the Octagon after almost three years of inactivity.
In the eventual fight against the Brazilian, Rockhold will have the opportunity to make a significant leap in the category led by Israel adesanya. If he overcomes the Minas Gerais native, the 37-year-old veteran could, in addition to returning to the division's elite, take a prominent place in the top 5 of the group.
