Former fighter and current commentator, Daniel Cormier expressed his dissatisfaction with the side judges' actions as a result of the fight between Ketlen Scallop e Holly holm. In a controversial decision, the Brazilian left with her arms raised after five rounds of balance, but 'DC' analyzed and disagreed with the professionals' analysis.

"Ketlen Scallop I didn't want to be on the side of the Octagon being held by Holly holm. Regardless of what you consider damage, she didn't want to be there, but in the center of the octagon. She was controlled for more than 10 minutes. And I think André Pederneiras' (the Brazilian's coach) reactions showed what he thought and how everything was unfolding. However, once again, the judges made a mistake. Either that, or we’re not watching the same fight”, analyzed Cormier on his official YouTube channel.
Even so, Daniel made a point of highlighting that criticism of professionals is not linked to the performance of Ketlen Scallop. He explains that, because they are deciding the future of athletes, there is a greater responsibility – which must be worked on and resolved with the greatest caution possible.
“It is not a criticism directed at Ketlen Scallop. When I express these opinions, it is not a direct attack on anyone in particular, but on how I feel. And the blame lies with the judges. We often score something without thinking about how it will all end, but that's not our job”, concluded the commentator.
Both Mike Bell and Derek Cleary scored the second, third and fourth rounds for Ketlen Scallop, while Sal D'amato saw the third round – and the fight – to Holly holm. With this, the Brazilian reached her 11th victory in her career and got closer to a chance at the bantamweight belt (under 61,2kg).
