Undisputed legend of combat sports, Anderson Silva once again filled the eyes of fans in a new boxing presentation. Former UFC champion, the Brazilian took on the challenge of facing his compatriot Bruno Caveira for the 'Abu Dhabi Unity', held this Saturday (21), in the United Arab Emirates. According to the agreement, if there was no knockout in the eight rounds of the fight, the fight would have a 'draw' as the official result.

In his third appearance since leaving Ultimate, Silva once again proved that he is still capable of performing at a high level. The Brazilian showed off his combinations, movement and came close to knocking out his compatriot in the fifth round.
Responsible for sharing the ring with a living legend, Bruno did not hide his excitement at facing his former teammate from 'Team Nogueira'. A star in the United Arab Emirates, Caveira was grateful for the opportunity and drew applause from the public.
Applauded at the event, Anderson pointed out what could be his next commitment in martial arts. The Brazilian was open to participating in a jiu-jitsu competition, and did not rule out Abu Dhabi as one of the destinations.
The fight
The confrontation began with the athletes measuring the distance and exchanging jabs in the center of the ring. Anderson played left-handed and tried to cut short to get into the opponent's range of action. In the final minute, Caveira touched the legend with a cross, but 'Spider' absorbed the attack well. Towards the end of the stage, Silva walked towards his opponent and threw straight shots, but there was no more time.
In the second stage, Anderson took the initiative, launching a sequence of jabs. Caveira responded in kind. Near the final minute, Bruno attacked with two hooks to the waist of 'Spider', who threw a straight one, but the blow went empty. In the final seconds, Silva was pressed against the ropes, and absorbed some attacks, but was unfazed.
The third round began with Anderson touching his opponent first, with a jab. The legend went up and attacked with rights and crosses, which brought the spectators to their feet. In the final minute, the Brazilian acted with his guard down and tried to attract Bruno into a counterattack. Caveira walked towards Anderson, but saved his attacks. Silva kept his guard down, but there wasn't much action between the stars.
The fourth round had Silva, again, launching the first blow, with a jab. The former UFC champion moved well and attacked with jabs and straight shots. Caveira showed concentration and waited for the best moment to respond. Near the final minute, 'Spider' went up, applied pressure with combinations and the fighters went into the clinch. Separated by the referee, the fight took on intense tones, with frank exchanges between the protagonists. Silva let go, but Caveira also attacked with powerful blows.
In the fifth round, the athletes came back aggressive. In the opening moments, the legend attacked with combinations of hooks on Bruno's waistline. Caveira started walking towards the São Paulo native and landed a powerful cross on the former UFC champion. Anderson showed no discomfort with his compatriot's attacks and, in the final minute, 'Spider' connected with a left bomb on Caveira, who absorbed the attack well. In the final seconds, Silva began to press his opponent against the bars and punished his opponent. With an attack close to the bell, Bruno went to the canvas and the referee opened the count, but there was still a fight.
In the sixth round, Caveira returned more aggressive. Silva raised his guard and counterattacked. The UFC legend was still better in the match and was waiting for a mistake from his opponent. Long in the opening moments, Anderson pressed his compatriot against the ropes and combined hooks and crosses to his opponent's body. Silva continued to impress with the action delivered at the event and Bruno tried to recover. The confrontation ended with the athletes exchanging blows close to the ropes.
