After beating Venezuelan Verônica Macedo at UFC Chile in May 2018, Andrea and her boyfriend Donny went to enjoy some well-deserved rest after an intense training camp. However, one of the fighter's partner's tattoos caught the attention of mixed martial arts fans. The design referenced the symbols of the swastika and the “SS”, the paramilitary organization linked to the Nazi Party and dictator Adolf Hitler responsible for many of the crimes against humanity committed during the Second World War.

“We are not racist, we have an Asian boy and a black boy living with us. My God! It's a tattoo he got when he was in prison. Forget it! He covers them both all the time, but they showed up when we had a free day at the lake. Sensitive idiots,” Lee wrote in a social media post following the negative repercussions of the case. Obviously, the photo was deleted soon after.

“That’s what they’re going to do. They (Viviane's team) are filthy Brazilians. They will cheat this way. Let’s kick someone’s ass,” Tonny said to Andrea.

Even after receiving several criticisms, the North American did not regret his speech and blamed 'cancel culture' for the negative repercussions of his speech.

“Cancel culture is real. What I said was real and in the heat of battle, and in no way had any kind of racist connotation... but if that's how you understand it, I don't care. So many people were quick to say 'racist'...what the s**t getting so old. My reference was to a finger in the dirty eye”, wrote Tonny on a social network.
