UFC 165: Jon Jones avoids being stared at after weigh-in, but says: 'This sport is a game of intelligence'

Without fear and with friendly faces, the main stars of UFC 165 went through the last challenge before the event: the official weigh-in. The bantamweights Renan Barao e Eddie Wineland, who are competing for the interim belt in the second most important fight of the show, weighed in at exactly 61,2 kg, the division limit. As for the protagonists of the main fight, Jon Jones e Alexander Gustafson were below the limit of 93 kg. of the category.

“I worked really hard to get here and I'm going to leave with the belt,” said a confident Gustafsson. In turn, Jones guarantees that his rival's greater height will not be a problem in the fight. “This sport is a game of intelligence and I am very prepared to be here. It's the third time I've fought in Canada and I'm ready for the fight”, said the champion, who did not look the Swede in the eye at the time.

In the other fights on the show, the only athlete who failed to make weight was Ivan Menjivar, the Brazilian's rival Wilson reis. He will have two hours to cut the remaining weight and confirm the duel.
