Asked at the press conference after the event if he believes he is among the biggest names in the history of the division, the former champion responded positively, but stated that it is important to “keep your feet on the ground”.

“I believe so (I'm among the best in the division), I've been making history. The most important thing is to keep your feet on the ground, know where I came from, where I am and where I want to go, continue working with this gigantic team, and be respectful. But I think so, I've been proving this fight after fight, I've beaten the best names in the category, I've made history”, he concluded.

If he hadn't lost the belt for not making weight for the fight against Justin gaethje, the victory over the North American would represent the second defense of the Charles of the Bronx in the division and would leave the Brazilian just one fight away from equaling the Khabib Nurmagomedov e B.J. Penn, record holders for consecutive defenses in the category. As this was not the case, Do Bronx continues with just one defense and awaits the definition of his next opponent to try to regain the title.
