The Brazilian Edson Barboza, author of the 2012 knockout of the year, already has a new opponent defined. The Ultimate organization announced, on Wednesday night (18), that Edson will face North American Danny Castillo at UFC on FOX 9, in December.
Edson Barboza has a record of 12 wins and just one defeat. The lightweight, who is coming off victories over Rafaello “Trator” and Lucas “Mineiro”, is looking for his seventh triumph as a UFC athlete. Currently, Brazilians are not part of the top-10 division up to 70 kg.
Just like Barboza, Danny Castillo is not among the top ten ranked lightweights. Also like the Brazilian, the North American comes from two consecutive victories – over Tim means and Paul Sass. Castillo has a record of 16 wins and five losses.
UFC on FOX 9 takes place on December 14th, at the “Sleep Train Arena”, in Sacramento (USA). In the main fight of the night, the new lightweight champion Anthony Pettis defends his belt for the first time against the veteran Josh thomson.
