The resounding victory of Marlon Vera about Rob font, last Saturday (30), not only served to fill the pockets of the Ecuadorian, who took home US$ 100 thousand (approximately R$ 504 thousand) in bonuses related to the Fight of the Night award, but also to elevate the athlete to the top 5 in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg) in the new UFC rankings update.

Marlon Vera entered the octagon as eighth in the division. With the victory over the then fifth placed Rob font, the Ecuadorian “stole” the position from his rival, overtaking the former champion on the way Dominick Cruz and the Georgian Merab Dvalishvili. Font, in turn, fell to seventh place.

Another change generated by UFC Las Vegas 53 occurred in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg).
