After victory with lightning finish, Francisco Figueiredo celebrates result: 'Work is working'

The brother of the flyweight champion highlighted all the sacrifice made during the preparation period and praised the triumph over Daniel Miojo

Behind the scenes of UFC Las Vegas 53, the Brazilian Francisco Figueredo did not hide his happiness with the quick submission victory over Daniel Miojo. In an interview with 'Combate', after the event', the flyweight athlete (up to 56,7kg) said he was relieved after the intense pressure during his training and said that the triumph is the result of a lot of work with his team.

“I feel very happy. This means that the work is working, and I still have a lot to show. It's as if we were removing a chain from our body. During training we get very stuck. It's training, home, training, home. So when we come here and everything goes well, there’s nothing better,” said Francisco.

Back on the path to victory, the Brazilian athlete asked for a rematch against the only athlete who defeated him in Ultimate so far, the American Malcon Gordon.

“I want to get back to fighting as soon as possible. I would like to fight with Malcolm Gordon to give him back my defeat', concluded the Brazilian.

Hired by Ultimate in January 2021, the brother of flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiro had three fights for the organization and has a record of two wins and one defeat so far. In his record as a professional, the Brazilian has a record of 13 triumphs, four setbacks and one draw.
