GSP questions Chimaev's offensive strategy in the fight against Durinho: 'You can't fight like that'

MMA legend, Canadian says that Swede exposes himself in the desire to finish off his opponents and, as a result, receives many unnecessary blows

Recognized by many as the greatest name in the history of welterweights (under 77kg), Georges St-Pierre remains attentive to the division's movements. The Canadian, who had the distinction of being cautious in his playing style, questioned the offensive strategy adopted by Khamzat Shimaev in the fight against Gilbert Durinho, which occurred in the UFC 273, April 9th.

“It was a great fight, as he needed to prove himself. He had passed everyone very easily. So, you need to go through difficult times to improve and evolve. It's not good to be hit in the head. I like the fighting style, but I don't think he puts on an intelligent fight. He could have made it easier for himself. He's used to beating everyone like that, but he can't fight like that at a high level. You have to prepare yourself, adopt a game plan and become your opponent's perfect enemy”, analyzed St-Pierre in an interview with 'MMANews'.

Khamzat Shimaev is undefeated in 11 fights and, after victory over Gilbert Durinho in the unanimous decision of the judges, he got closer to a chance for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.), led by Kamaru Usman. The Swede now occupies third place, behind only Colby covington e Leon edwards, in addition to the Nigerian.
