Current PFL heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), Bruno Cappelozza showed that he is coming with everything in the fight for the second championship in the 2022 season. In the main fight of PFL 2022 #2, in the early hours of this Friday (29), the Brazilian “ran over” the British Stuart Austin and managed to get the knockout in the first round.

The devastating victory guarantees the Bruno Cappelozza the six points and the division leadership, alongside his compatriot Renan Problem and Russian Denis Goltsov, who also won their challenges in less than one round at the event. The Corinthians athlete now has five fights and five wins, four of them by knockout, in the PFL decagon.
Stuart Austin, on the other hand, remains without a win in the organization. The Brazilian, who had been knocked out by Renan Problem in his debut, in August 2021, he suffered the second consecutive knockout in the decagon.
THE FIGHT
Bruno Cappelozza began the fight seeking control of the center of the decagon and surrounding Stuart Austin. In the Brazilian's first attack, the British athlete grabbed and sought the clinch. Back in the center of the cage, Austin risked a low kick, but Bruno was unfazed and went all out on the Brit. The Brazilian connected a good combination with his fists and rocked his opponent. With just under two minutes left until the end of the first round, Bruno Cappelozza he connected with an excellent right blow, which took Stuart Austin to the canvas. The Brit survived, but the Brazilian stayed on top on the ground, transitioned to mount and “hammered” the Brit until the referee stopped him.

In the co-main fight of the night, contested in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg), Chris Wade defeated Lance Palmer via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). Seeming to be in a greater rotation than his opponent, Wade dominated the fight in all aspects, including connecting a greater number of blows than those thrown by Palmer.
Runner-up of the tournament in 2021, Chris Wade debuts with a convincing victory in the new season and adds three points in the competition, equaling Brendan Loughnane, Sheymon Moraes, Alejandro Flores and Bubba Jenkins. The “Long Island Killer” has four wins in his last five fights.
Two-time featherweight champion in 2018 and 2019, Lance Palmer has not won since winning his last title in the organization. The former champion now has three consecutive defeats in the decagon.
After interruption due to head clash, Brendan Loughnane beats Ryoji Kudo in technical decision
Valid for the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg), the duel between Ryoji Kudo and Brendan Loughnane it was eventful but ended anticlimacticly. After an accidental head clash in the middle of the third round left a nasty cut on Kudo's head, the fight was stopped and Loughnane emerged victorious in a technical and unanimous decision by the judges (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
After being defeated by the current champion Movlid Khaybulaev in the semi-final of last year's tournament, Brendan Loughnane has three points on his debut in the new season, equaling Sheymon Moraes, Alejandro Flores and Bubba Jenkins. The Brit now has 22 wins and four losses in his career.
On the other side, Ryoji Kudo loses in his debut in the organization. The Japanese has a record of ten wins, three losses and one draw in his career.
