Division champion for almost a year, the Brazilian spoke exclusively to SUPER FIGHTS about the awaited challenge against Justin gaethje, UFC 274, on May 7th. The Brazilian avoided disrespecting the challenger, but assured that he was ready to prove himself superior in all areas in which he might be required.

The dangers of Gaethje
After finishing Dustin poirier In December of last season, Do Bronx will have a new opponent known for the power in his fists. Confident in his progress, Charles dismisses any fear of Gaethje's knockout power, who has already had 'wars' in the octagon. The Brazilian then assured that he will not avoid a frank fight.
“Have you ever seen a trailer moving forward without brakes? You know how it works. It's Charles. I just move forward. I respect his (Gaethje) heavy hand. In the last fight, he waged war against the Michael chandler, and I knocked Chandler out with my left hand. Who has the heaviest hand? I didn't understand until now. The reality is at the time (of the fight), what will happen. On May 7th, I’m going to prove it once again”, he guaranteed.

(…) We come from a huge sequence of victories, we exchanged blows on equal terms with the guys who said we were the favorites. We knock out or submit,” he concluded.
