O Jungle Fight returns to Belém, this Saturday (07), after almost a year away from the capital of Pará. The city hosts the 57th edition of the show, which will be held at the Gymnasium of the State University of Pará (UEPA). In the main fight of the night, valid for the interim featherweight belt, Fabiano “Jacarezinho” faces Rafael “Gogó”.
Despite the calm atmosphere during the weigh-in, which took place last Friday (06), two athletes had problems making weight. Ridelci Dias, who faces Giovani “Soldado” in the flyweight division (57kg), was 500g above his ideal weight, while Mexican Juan “Fênix” Puig, who is fighting the Latin American duel against Argentine Alan Barros, broke the limit of his weight. category (70kg) in one kilo.
As usual, the president of the organization, Wallid Ismail, asked the competitors for courage and determination, in addition to remembering that all the fighters who performed in the Jungle Fight 56 will return to the tournament due to their good performances in Foz do Iguaçu (PR) at the end of August.
Former champions of the event, the brothers Iuri and Ildemar Marajó, now UFC athletes, also attended the weigh-in. They were alongside Iuri “Anão” and Toninho “Marajó”, who they commanded at Marajó Brothers.
