Former lightweight challenger (up to 70,3kg) on two occasions, Dustin poirier made clear his dissatisfaction with the time away from the Octagon. In a post made on his Twitter, 'Diamante' didn't mince words and indirectly asked for an Ultimate opponent.

“I want to fight”, said Dustin on his social network.
Poirier has already challenged for the lightweight belt on two occasions and was defeated using the same method. In September 2019, the 'Diamond' faced the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov and was finished with a rear naked choke in the third round. Against the Brazilian charles do brox, in December 2021, the North American also succumbed in the same way and saw his dream of becoming champion postponed once again.
Playing for Ultimate since 2011, 'Diamante' has also played in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg). For the organization chaired by Dana White, the 33-year-old American has already played 27 times, achieving 20 wins, six defeats and one draw.
