Former champion of the organization, the veteran pointed out an advantage that he believes will be crucial for the confrontation, but rules out underestimating the Brazilian, who seeks to regain his status as challenger for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.).

“I believe that the difference in wingspan and height will be problems for Burns (Durinho) when it comes to this fight. I believe that Khamzat will win, but I don’t know if he will go through the confrontation in a dominant way as he has done so many times,” said Cormier, on his channel on YouTube.

Successful in his career as a professional in MMA in the past, Daniel analyzed the techniques that could promote a clash of styles between Chimaev and Gilbert. The commentator then explained why he is convinced of the advantage of Ultimate's promise in light of the Brazilian's experience.

“Normally, when you have this type of fight, the wrestler will dominate the grappler, because Gilbert needs to impose a lot of action to get rid of the pressure of Khamzat Shimaev. The wrestling base will nullify that. We are wrestlers and we understand how to stop the movements of jiu-jitsu representatives”, he concluded.

This weekend, Durinho and Khamzat face off in one of the most anticipated fights in the world UFC 273. The clash between welterweight standouts could guarantee the winner a chance to challenge the champion in a clash for the group's belt.
