Even with Ultimate negotiating a new fight between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno, the flyweight champion (under 56,7kg) made it clear that he has no interest in the fourth duel. In a post made on his Instagram, the owner of the category belt recalled the racist attacks suffered by the Mexican's trainer and made clear his desire to have the New Zealander Kai Kara France as the next challenger.

“Dear Dana White, I just wanted to thank you for the chances you gave me, my family and my country. You know I would fight anyone, anytime, anywhere. That said, I wanted to fight the Brandon Moreno for the fourth time, because I know that's what the fans want. Until his team crossed the line with racist comments. Calling me a monkey and even going so far as to put a monkey's face on top of mine. When all this happened I launched a campaign to end racism and prejudice in my city where the population is predominantly Indian and black. As UFC world champion, I ask that you consider my wish. I wish to fight Kai Kara France, the next competitor in line who earned his spot,” wrote Deiveson.
One of the biggest rivalries currently in Ultimate, Deiveson and Moreno have faced each other three times in a row since December 2020 and the record shows a victory for each side and a draw. In the last confrontation, in January 2020, the Brazilian emerged victorious in the judges' unanimous decision after 25 minutes of an intense battle and regained the flyweight belt.
