Ivan Batman agrees with UFC and replaces Marcelo Guimarães in Belo Horizonte

Another champion of Jungle Fight gains access to UFC. After the recent acquisitions of Edimilson “Kevin” Souza and Elias Silvério, owners of the Jungle featherweight and welterweight belts, now it is the turn of Ivan Batman, the Brazilian organization's lightweight champion, to sign a deal with the UFC.

The fighter from Team Tavares, a team led by Thiago tavares, was called up to replace compatriot Marcelo Guimarães, who injured his arm, at UFC No Combate 3, which will be held in Belo Horizonte on September 4th. Batman will face North American Keith Wisniewski at welterweight, a category above his.

With 24 wins, 13 of which by submission, and just three defeats, Batman arrives in the UFC at the age of 32 and undefeated in six fights, almost two years. The fighter is on a streak of five submissions by rear naked choke, the most recent four in the first round. In his last fight, Batman won the Jungle Belt by submitting Lucio Curado.

UFC No Combate 3 will take place at Ginásio do Mineirinho, the same stage that hosted UFC 147, the first event of the largest organization in the world in Minas Gerais. The card will be led by Glover Teixeira against Ryan bader, valid for the light heavyweight division.
