On the same day that the UFC had huge success with an exciting event in London, England, GLORY Kickboxing presented regrettable scenes in Hasselt, Belgium. Last Saturday (19), GLORY 80 had to be interrupted after a widespread fight between fans during the penultimate duel of the event.

The co-main event of the night featured heavyweights Arkadiusz Wrozek and Badr Hari. After Wrozek scored a knockdown with a flying knee over Hari in the second round, a widespread brawl took over the Trixxo Arena, with chairs and equipment being thrown by both fighters' fans.

The situation quickly got out of control, with fans leaving their seats in the stands and taking the fight to the ringside. According to rumors, part of Wrzosek's fans were made up of “ultras” from Légia Warsaw, a popular football team in Poland.

Following recommendations from the local police, GLORY chose not to proceed with the event, declaring the fight as “no contest” (no result). Additionally, the organization announced via social media that the event's main fight between Jamal Ben Saddik and Levi Righters has been cancelled.

“GLORY deeply regrets that GLORY 80 was disrupted by people demonstrating dangerous behavior. We never approve or accept behavior that puts other fans who come to our events to enjoy a night of world-class sport at risk. Following a request from the Hasselt city police, we interrupted the event after the second round of the fight between Hari and Wrzosek. We apologize to the fans who were unable to see the end of this fight and the duel between Ben Saddik and Rigters. Also to the athletes who trained so hard and didn't get to compete. Martial arts is a sport of respect and fair competition inside and outside the ring”, declared GLORY.
