Anticlimax for Brazil. Only Tupiniquim representative in UFC London, held this Saturday (19), in England, Luana Dread was the victim of one of the toughest knockouts of the 2022 Ultimate season. Opponent of Molly McCann over the weekend, the São Paulo native was unable to put her strategy into play and ended up frighteningly defeated in the third round of the match, with a spinning elbow.

With the defeat, Luana ended up being unable to expand the good moment in the organization. A flyweight representative (up to 56,7kg), the Brazilian had two consecutive victories, but now has three stumbles in her last five fights.
A 'home' athlete, Molly had a dominant performance from start to finish. With sharp hands, the Englishwoman shook Dread a few times during the fight. The gala performance was crowned with a brutal knockout on the main card.
McCann's triumph saw the fighter reach her third consecutive victory in the division. Now, the fighter is approaching the top 15 of the group led by Valentina Shevchenko.
The fight
The confrontation began with McCann launching the first blow, with a low kick. The Brazilian responded with a high kick. Afterwards, the Englishwoman surprised Luana with a combination of punches, which shook Dread. The São Paulo native tried to resist, but Molly didn't give her space. The Tupiniquim went into the fight with a vengeance and sought to 'cool down' the moment. McCann managed to free himself and attacked the Brazilian again with a cross, which landed cleanly on Luana's face. The Englishwoman continued to be more aggressive, and Dread was unable to compete. In the final minute, Molly once again punished the Brazilian, who was trying to survive her opponent. Luana returned to the grappling fight. McCann broke free again and continued striking until the round ended.
In the second stage, the Brazilian immediately went to the clinch. Molly managed to pull away and was walking forward. Luana launched attacks, but the blows stopped in the Englishwoman's guard. McCann managed to shorten it and, subsequently, took down the Tupiniquim. From below, Dread tried to nullify the Englishwoman's attacks and attempted a submission. Near the final minute, the referee made the athletes stand due to their lack of combativeness. Upon return, Luana went into the clinch and threw knees at her opponent's waist. Nearing the end of the stage, Molly scored a nice takedown on the Tupiniquim, but there was no more time.
The last round began with the athletes engaging in frank exchanges. With the match truncated, the athletes started to compete on the bars. After just over a minute, the Englishwoman launched a sequence of jabs and rights, which touched Luana's face. The Brazilian tried to respond, but ended up receiving a brutal spinning elbow, which led to the Tupiniquim's immediate knockout.
