Retired since 2020, Henry Cejudo 'hit the brakes' regarding a possible return to Ultimate. The athlete, who has been flirting with a return to MMA for over a year, did not hide his resentment towards the organization over the values offered by his presence in the company. Critically, the fighter even questioned the salaries of stars like Jorge masvidal e Israel adesanya, pointing out a 'damage' in cost-benefit.

“Money talks and idiots accept it. I will not accept. I will not be tested again by USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) until they pay me what I deserve. They will pay Israel adesanya, who doesn’t even know how to do one moonwalk (Michael Jackson's traditional dance pass), he is unable to win a second belt or even defend a takedown to save his life. Also have Jorge masvidal. They're going to give him money and he has 17 career losses. Can't they (UFC) give 'Triple C' some of their fortune?” asked Henry, in an interview with 'The Underground'.

Former double Ultimate champion, Cejudo has not performed since his victory over the bantamweight legend (up to 61,2 kg.), Dominick Cruz. On that occasion, the fighter overcame the former champion, defended his title and, still in the octagon, announced that he would be hanging up his gloves.

The decision to leave the sport, however, did not last long. Moments after surprising MMA fans, at a press conference, Henry admitted that he would come back, but for the right money.

Cejudo's attack, however, does not seem to have worked with Ultimate's management. Since his last commitment, the fighter started to suggest a fight for a third title in the organization, something unprecedented in more than 20 years with the company.

The North American's plan would be an immediate clash against Alexander Volkanovsky, current featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.). If he were authorized to promote the fight, Henry could make history and add another title, which would be placed on his shelf alongside the flyweights (up to 56,7kg) and roosters.
