Planned, but not made official, the rematch between Amanda nunes e Julianna Pena is close to having its date confirmed. According to the new Lioness coach, Balbino Junior, the new duel valid for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg) should take place 'between July or August'. The statement was given in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.

“We're going to be here in Las Vegas for two more weeks (filming the reality show'The Ultimate Fighter 30'), and we still don't have a set date, but Amanda is picking up the pace and we're already training. Since we are doing 'TUF' and I think the finals will be on the same day as the fight against Julianna, I believe this fight will probably happen around July or August,” said Júnior.
The rematch against Peña will be Amanda's first confrontation after leaving American Top Team. Balbino believes that the change of scenery will be good for the 'Leoa' and showed confidence in a different outcome in the new title dispute.
“She needs to be with people who believe in her 100%, who trust her, so she is comfortable for a good camp. I'm very confident in the work we're doing together and she's very excited. Change is good sometimes. Our goal is to make Amanda bring that belt back. We know what Amanda is capable of. She is a complete athlete,” said Júnior.
Bantamweight champion since 2016, Amanda was dethroned by Julianna Pena last December. In the co-main event of UFC 269, the Brazilian succumbed to the 'Venezuela Shrew' and was submitted in the second round. The 'Lione' has a record of 21 triumphs and five setbacks in professional MMA.
