Wanted by UFC and Bellator, Kayla Harrison renews contract with PFL

Two-time champion of the organization and undefeated in professional MMA, the North American signed a new multi-year agreement with the PFL

The soap opera involving the future of Kayla harrison has come to an end. This Tuesday (8), the PFL (Professional Fighters League) announced, through publications on social media, the contract renewal of the organization's two-time lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) for multiple years.

To renew with Kayla harrison, the PFL had to overcome competition from the UFC and, mainly, Bellator, who were interested in having the fighter.

Owner of two Olympic gold medals in judo (London-2012 and Rio-216), Kayla harrison he debuted in professional MMA in June 2018, already in the PFL decagon. In total, there were 11 fights, 11 victories and two titles (2019 and 2021) won in the organization, with prize money of US$ 1 million each year. The American only had one fight outside the PFL, when she beat Courtney King at Invicta FC, in 2020.

The announcement of the renewal with the PFL comes less than a week after Kayla harrison to challenge Chris Cyborg, Bellator athlete, on social media. In a recent interview, the North American also mentioned Julianna Pena, UFC champion, as a target.
