Present as a technician in UFC 272, held this Saturday (5), in Las Vegas (USA), Khabib Nurmagomedov received a big surprise at T-Mobile Arena. A lightweight legend (up to 70,3kg) in Ultimate, the Russian was confirmed as the new inductee into the company's Hall of Fame. The announcement was made by the company during this weekend's show.

Retired since October 2020, Khabib achieved a historic feat in his career in MMA. In addition to holding the lightweight title in the company, the Russian left the sport undefeated, with 29 consecutive victories.
At the time of the announcement, Nurmagomedov's image was displayed on the big screens available at the T-Mobile Arena. Upon becoming an official member of the Hall of Fame, the public present at the event cheered, recognizing the 'Eagle's' achievements.
A professional in MMA between 2008 and 2020, Khabib enchanted some of the sport's fans with his pragmatic and unbeatable style. The athlete ended his participation in the sport with an impressive victory over Justin gaethje, UFC 254.
After submitting the American and unifying the lightweight title, the fighter announced that he would leave the sport. The main motivation for the decision was the death of his father, coach and mentor, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who died in 2020, a victim of Covid-19.
