If in January the future of Kayla harrison seemed to be defined, with talks well underway to renew the link with the PFL, in recent weeks the situation seems to have gone back to square one. Still free on the market, the two-time lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) of the Professional Fighters League stated, in an interview with the North American “ESPN”, that she still doesn't know where her next home in MMA will be.

“Other things have happened and there are some last-minute things happening behind closed doors, so I’m not entirely sure what’s going to happen,” Harrison said.
Harrison, who won two tournaments as a lightweight in the PFL and two Olympic golds competing at 78kg in judo, admitted that he is contemplating the possibility of moving down to bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) and cited the UFC champion Julianna Pena as a target.
“I'm considering (moving down to bantamweight). I heard Julianna (Peña) said she would move up to featherweight (up to 65,7 lbs) if they pay her enough, so that's good news. It means I don't have to rip off an arm. I want to be the best and everyone is talking about her. Why not? I need to conquer one mountain at a time, however. Whatever the next mountain is,” Kayla said.
Lastly, Kayla harrison stated that she is looking for a place where she can continue to build her legacy, but at the same time feels safe to do so.
“Three years ago I would have said that the legacy would be the most important thing. That was all that mattered. My advisors cared about my safety. Obviously, I have two kids now, so safety has to come first. There are no guarantees in this life. I could break my neck tomorrow and never fight again. Security is important. But if I can find a way to be safe and continue to build my legacy, that’s the right path,” he concluded.
