Surrounded by expectations for the style of the two athletes, the fight between Kyler Phillips e Marcelo red fulfilled what was promised in the preliminary card of the UFC 271, event held on Saturday (12). With a strong rhythm from the first moment, the North American gained distance, connected the best blows and showed a great level of jiu-jitsu to submit the Argentine with an armbar in the third round.

The fight
The first round was marked by a great pressure game. Kyler Phillips He insisted on keeping his grip close to the fence and worked on low blows that already seemed to hurt Marcelo red. The return was scheduled with Rojo having a 'stuck game' and, despite the training partner's instructions, Brandon Moreno, he didn't have a hard-hitting round. On the other hand, Phillips showed more confidence and, again, threw the best blows.
In the last and final round, Kyler set a strong pace and, on top, managed to transition to an armbar. Marcelo then gave the 'three slaps' in withdrawal.

End of the line. In a fight valid for the preliminary card of the UFC 271, an event held in Houston (USA) last Saturday (12), Roxanne Modafferi performed her 'last dance' as an MMA fighter. And, after three balanced rounds, she ended up defeated by the undefeated Casey O'Neill in the judges' split decision.
In a post-event press conference, Modafferi made a point of thanking the coaches for his evolution and trajectory in MMA. In his career, there were 46 fights – 25 triumphs and 21 setbacks.
Now, O'Neill wins his most important victory in his career in the flies (up to 56,7kg.). She has a 'perfect record' of nine triumphs.
In a warm fight, Arlovski beats Vanderaa on points
The conclusion of the preliminary card at UFC 271 took the lead in the heavyweight division (120,2kg.) Andrei Arlovski e Jared Vanderaa. In a heated duel over three rounds, the former Belarusian champion confirmed his favoritism and defeated the North American in a split decision from the judges.
With this, Arlovski achieved his second victory in a row and reaffirms a good moment in the organization. Professional since 1999, the Belarusian has a record of 32 triumphs, 20 setbacks and two 'no result' fights.
Vanderaa is at risk of being cut from the organization. Now, there are three defeats in four appearances. He has a record of 12 positive results and seven negative results.
