” It's a difficult situation for me because I tore both knees with devastating injuries. I couldn't do much jiu-jitsu or wrestling. I felt (the injury) during a warm-up. Everything in that camp was focused on the arms. I only did boxing and only worked on the upper part of the body. That's not how my body is. I've been in this game a long time. Five years with the belt, five years without. My body has never felt like this”, recalled 'Lioness'.

Then, Nunes tried to credit Peña's performance as the main reason for his defeat. Still, she confesses that she regretted taking part in the fight, which had previously been canceled due to testing positive for COVID-19.

“The whole lead-up to this fight was a mess. I always try to think, 'It's okay, I can do this.' Fighters are like that, because we want to overcome everything to enter the cage. The first fight was canceled after I got COVID and had some problems. I wasn't healthy enough to go to the gym, but I didn't want to leave the fight again”, he concluded.

Amanda is now scheduled as one of the coaches for the 30th edition of 'The Ultimate Fighter', which begins recording in February this year. As usual, the 'Lioness' faces Julianna Pena at the end of the season, on a date not yet officially announced.
