Even without fighting, Demian Maia moves up to fourth in the welterweight rankings

Brazilian benefited from Jake Ellenberger's criticized performance against Rory MacDonald

The biggest beneficiary of the criticized confrontation of Rory McDonald e Jake ellenberger in the co-main fight of UFC on FOX 8 was far from Seattle (USA), the stage for the fight night. With the disappointing performance, especially from Ellenberger, who ended up defeated, the Brazilian Demian Maia gained a position in the welterweight rankings and now occupies fourth place.

In addition to the change of positions in the welterweight category, only one other change occurred involving athletes who fought in last Saturday's event (27). After beating Julie Kedzie, Dutch Germain de Randamie rose to eighth place in the women's bantamweight division.

Finally, the positions of four fighters who did not perform over the weekend were also reviewed in this Monday's update (29): Phil Davis rose to seventh place among light heavyweights, gaining the position of Mauritius Shogun; and in the weight-for-pound ranking, the new middleweight champion Chris Weidman achieved ninth position – previously belonging to Dominick Cruz.
