Former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.), Max Holloway was cast in the trilogy against Alexander Volkanovsky, on March 5, but was forced to withdraw from the fight due to an injury. Now, the Hawaiian has been cleared by doctors to resume training normally. The information was given by journalist Brett Okamoto, from 'ESPN' North-American.

In fact, Max offered to be a 'reserve fighter' in the clash between Alexander Volkanovsky and 'Korean zombie', scheduled to take place in UFC 273 on April 9th. Ultimate is now aware of Holloway's interest, but has not yet made an official decision on his proposal.
Max is in first place in the ranking, behind only Volkanovski. The Hawaiian faced the Australian on two occasions. One of them resulted in Holloway losing his belt. Professional since 2008, he has a record of 23 triumphs and six setbacks in his career.
